Help Obama’s Health Care Reform
Whether or not you like our President, President Barack Obama, you have to admit that the health care system needs some major reformations. And you may or may not believe in the way that he is approaching health care reform, but at least there is someone concerned enough to begin to do something about it, even if it is to open up the discussion about health care on a national level. But what can we as American’s do, as we sit at home waiting for the debates to yield a final decision about what is going to be done? Well the answer to that question is not as difficult as some might think.
First and foremost, one of the reasons Americans complain so much about health care costs is that they are constantly having to go to the doctor. If we tried to live healthier lives though, this would not be the case. There are a number of things we can do to keep personally keep ourselves from the doctor. Washing your hands well and often throughout the day is number one. This helps to stop the spread of germs and diseases that get us sick. Don’t use your hands to touch your face unless you have just cleaned them with soap and water and haven’t touched anything else. Drink plenty of water. Drinking plenty of water helps to flush bacteria out of the body and keep every function inside of the body well oiled. Taking the time to prepare healthy, balanced meals is great for long term health. It is recommended by some to try and eat organic foods whenever possible, try to cook with only fresh ingredients that are free from preservatives and additives. Stop drinking sodas and things heavily packed with sugar and take a daily multi-vitamin. Finally, incorporate exercise into your lifestyle. Believe it or not, doing these simple little things will often times keep you from needing to go to the doctor, which means reduced health care costs for you and for everyone else
