Did you know that over 100 million Americans have high cholesterol? We all know cholesterol can be confusing. However, it is so vital to the overall structure and function of our bodies. Unfortunately, it’s also one of the places where all the fat gets stored and can develop in your arteries. Lucky for you, a healthy body makes all the cholesterol you need for proper functioning. You can eat great, and still be healthy!! Monitoring your diet is essential. You should limit your intake of cholesterol, and watch what you eat daily. It can also reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke, which can ultimately lead to a longer, healthier life!

Want to continue living a healthier life? Don’t overlook the fiber in your diet. Fiber is the part of plant foods your body doesn’t digest and absorb. There are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Insoluble fiber keeps your stool soft and prevents constipation, which is certainly better for your digestive tract. Add vegetables, wheat bran, and other whole grains to your diet for a healthy start. You should have at least 25-30 grams of fiber a day. The best source of fiber is Bran; it contains about 25-40% of fiber. There are also fiber supplements and powders that have been proven to be a great source of fiber as well. So, don’t forget about the fiber, it’s actually a key player for a better diet.

Happy New Year!!!! Certainly hope you have celebrated to your heart’s content! This year is going to be the best that YOU make of it; no more excuses, no more reasons why you CAN’T do something. Remember that it’s always so easy to come up with a million reasons why you shouldn’t do something and 10 times harder to come up with one (just one) reason why you should!! Go ahead and face those things that you may ordinarily run from and really live your life and embrace the positives. Try not to harp on the negative and your world will have already begun making a shift! Cheers to living life!!
